Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A fine example of a 12" long 18th century silver basting spoon made in Cork. This elegant silver serving spoon is in a form akin to Old English pattern, but is more simple in its design (lacks the pip to reverse side) and with its tapering handle is verging towards the Celtic Point variant - typical of its provincial manufacture! This type of spoon is also known as a stuffing spoon or gravy spoon. The front terminal bears an engraved crest of a lion rampant and the bottom struck "STERLING" and "CT" marks remain clear. This spoon is in great condition with a good thick bowl rim and a lovely patina. A fine example of its type.
