£240.00
Stilton Chees Scoop - Victoria Pattern - London 1846 by Jospeh & Albert Savory - 25.5cm long, 105 grams - KM/6023
This is a fantastic quality, antique silver stilton cheese scoop and at 10" long is quite massive!
The scoop is in Victoria Pattern, named in honour of the Queen and introduced close to the start of her reign in the late 1830's. The decoration is of the outstanding quality and in high relief to both sides, plus there is an engraved crest located to the front terminal. Made by the premier silversmiths Joseph & Albert Savory, this is a very sturdy stilton scoop with a good hefty weight and just oozing high quality. It is in superb crisp condition and is a fine example of a large, antique cheese scoop.
Used for scooping out lumps of cheese from a round of stilton, these utensils are traditionally used at Christmas time, but can also be an excellent year round addition to a cheese board.
