Table Spoon - Hanoverian Scroll-back - London 1771 by Walter Tweedie - 20.7cm long; 53g - EC/1394b

Picture-back silver table spoons were popular during the mid-18th century and this is a great example by the spoonmaker Walter Tweedie.

This Hanoverian pattern table spoon is attractively decorated with a raised rococo shell and scroll to the reverse of the bowl. The spoon benefits from having no personalised engravings (nor erasures) and is in excellent crisp condition with a good set of bottom-struck hallmarks and a fine antique patina.
