Gilt Vine & Grapes Snuff Box, 1817

This is an exquisite silver-gilt snuff box made by the rarely found partnership of Pemberton & Mitchell. This good-sized Georgian box has a nice hefty feel in the hand and is in superb condition; the decoration is very crisp throughout and the gold plate is intact. It has a particularly attractive vine and grapes border around the top which is repeated around the sides. The main hallmarks are located on the lip of the base with part marks to the inside cover. A very fine piece.
