Shells & Gourds Vinaigrette, 1812

This most unusual silver vinaigrette is engraved to the front cover with an assortment of shells around a central gourd and a leafy tendril to the underside. The inside of this early Birmingham-made box is gilt with a sunburst pierced hinged grille and a full set of hallmarks for Samuel Pemberton to the inside cover. A good looking vinaigrette in fine condition.
