Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a fabulous Georgian period cast silver taperstick made by one of the best makers of the period. It has a hexafoil base with a shell to each of the six lobes, retains its original removable hexafoil nozzle and is in excellent original condition with clear hallmarks to the underside.

Tapersticks were essential pieces of desk equipage during the 18th century and were used for melting the wax to seal letters and documents.
