Georgian Silver Travelling Paten, 1827 MR/CR
Sold
Paten - Circular on Trumpet Foot - London 1827 by Mary Reily & Charles Reily - 7cm diameter; 2cm high; 35g - DK/3681
This is a scarce silver paten made by the mother and son partnership of Mary & Charles Reily.
Formed as a miniature tazza, this silver paten would have been used as part of a minister's travelling communion set. It bears the engraved "IHS" Christogram to the centre (the monogram for the name Jesus). It was made during the George IV period and is in fine condition with a good, antique patina.
