Georgian Silver Toasting Fork, 1800

Antique silver toasting forks are relatively scarce and this is a great Georgian example.

Measuring 8.25" long, this toasting fork has an ebony handle to insulate the user from the heat and three sharp, purposefully bent tines to give good grip - ideal for marshmallows or toast! The fork has appropriate London hallmarks for the first year of the 19th century, although the maker's mark has been partially obliterated by the after-stamping of the duty mark and only shows an "M". The condition is excellent throughout.
