Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a very rare piece of Georgian medical related silver. It is an "S"-shaped feeding straw or siphon used by the elderly and infirm.

The boot-shaped end of the straw is attractively pierced whilst the other has an open aperture for sucking. To the centre is a hanging hook which is also appropriate marked for small-ware of the period with the "IP" maker's mark for James Phipps. This George III period feeding straw is in excellent condition.
