It is rare to find an 18th century silver teapot still intact with its original silver stand and even more difficult to find such a pairing in excellent condition. This Georgian period teapot and stand are just that and what a fine pairing they make. The teapot has a flat base necessitating the use of the stand which lifts it from the table to prevent possible scorching.

The teapot's elegant shaped oval form is repeated by the stand and both are similarly engraved with a superb cartouche with "JEB" script monogram. The teapot is further engraved to the other side with a vacant cartouche. It has a black ebony handle to protect the user from the heat. The cover has an expertly made flush hinge and is topped by a carved, green-stained ivory finial in the form of a pineapple - at this date pineapples were a very scarce commodity in England and seen as a status symbol.

The condition of this Neo-classical teapot on stand is fabulous with both pieces retaining their original patina. A very stylish set indeed.
