Tea Caddy - Straight-sided Canister - London 1762 by Samuel Taylor - 14.5cm high; 340g - KJ/1397

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is a fine quality Georgian silver tea caddy with a good hefty weight in the hand due to the good gauge of silver used in its manufacture. The caddy has a removable cover which doubles as a tea measure and a sliding base to allow easy re-filling. Both body and sliding base bear appropriate hallmarks for Samuel Taylor. One side of the body is engraved with an asymmetric cartouche bordered by scrolls, flowers and grasses, but it remains free from personalised engravings. The condition is excellent throughout with a lovely patina.
