This is a fabulous quality silver taperstick by one of the most important candlestick makers of the 18th century. This cast taper stick has a circular base that is embellished with six stylised scallop shell motifs. It has a good heavy weight and is engraved with a coat-of-arms to the dished base. The hallmarks are located to the underside and include a clear example of the maker's mark.
