Teaspoon - 'Lions mask' Picture Back - London circa 1770 by Charles Hougham - 12.4cm long; 13g - BZ/8671
We don't recall seeing this picture back before. There is a laughing lion within scroll cartouche in relief to the reverse of the bowl. The motif is very crisp and the whole spoon is in great condition with an unworn bowl and fine patina. There is an original engraved betrothal triangle to the reverse stem. Excellent bottom-struck marks too - a good spoon!
