Nutmeg Grater - Rectangular with Two lift-off Covers - Birmingham 1795 by Samuel Pemberton - 2.2cm high; 3.4cm x 2.4cm; 21g - QD/4725
This beautiful silver nutmeg grater was made by one of the best of the Birmingham silversmiths, Samuel Pemberton. The rectangular box has two lift off covers; the one to the top that reveals the steel grating rasp and the other to the underside that is removed to retrieve the grated spice. This nutmeg grater is beautifully engraved around the outside and both covers have the bonus of vacant cartouches without any personalised engravings. The hallmarks are spread between both covers and the overall condition is excellent with nothing negative to report.
