Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This late 17th century nutmeg grater is in the typical cylindrical form for the period, but is of a larger size than most contemporary examples. It has geometric engraving around the centre and a Tudor rose to the removable cap. The base is crudely engraved with original "MW" initials. The removable rasp to the interior is made of silver and can be seen to be original to the piece with matching "AP" makers mark stamped to the base of both sections. This is an excellent example of an early nutmeg grater.
