These superb quality serving dishes or meat platters have the provenance of once belonging to the Royal Fusiliers with both sides of each plate being engraved with the regimental crest and the motto for the Most Noble of the Order of the Garter "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense". Weighing in excess of 104 tr.oz., these 17" long dishes are top quality items and were made by John Houle who was one of the best largeworker silversmiths of the period . They are in excellent condition with typical knife scratches to the front surfaces.
