George III Silver Wine Funnel, 1809
£675.00
Wine Funnel - 3-sections - London 1809 by Abstinando King - 14.5cm high; 165g - EM/6006
This a fine example of a George III period silver wine funnel that benefits from being excellent condition with its original swan-neck funnel still intact.
The funnel comprises three sections: a top strainer section, a ring that can hold a muslin filter and a spout. The spout can act alone as a funnel without the strainer if required and has three bars around the lower section to allow air to escape when placed in a decanter and also the bend at the end will prevent the wine from bruising (it is directed towards the side of the decanter rather allowing a long drop). The ring sits inside the lower rim of the strainer and is drilled with holes so that a muslin cloth can be fitted for extra filtration.
Bearing appropriate London hallmarks for Abstinando King, this top quality funnel bears no personalised engravings and is in fine condition throughout.
