Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is an excellent early George II silver cream jug and as you don't find too many silver cream jugs pre-dating 1740, this example from 1738 is a good, early piece at a very competitive price.

This upright, pear-shaped jug has three legs in the tripod form and is engraved to the front with a lion rampant armorial and later gallopping horse crest. In addition to the London hallmarks, it bears the scarce "IV" maker's mark for John Verlander to the underside.

The jug is in fine antique condition with a little wear to the armorial but otherwise has survived remarkably well the intervening 280+ years since its manufacture.
