Miniature Coffee Pot - Straight Handle & Spout - London circa 1725 by James Slater - 5.5cm high - EC/7359

This is a very rare George I period miniature silver coffee pot made by James Slater.

The coffee pot has a single-point wooden handle at right angles to the straight spout and is a direct copy of a full-sized coffee pot of circa 1720.  Doll's houses were very popular during the early quarter of the 18th century and this miniature would have been made to furnish a high quality example.

Even after 300-years, this exquisite miniature coffee pot remains in excellent condition and is stamped to the underside with the "IS" maker's mark of James Slater.

An identical example is shown in plate 213 of "Miniature Silver Toys" by Victor Houart.
