Caddy Spoon - Fiddle Pattern with Decorated Bowl - London 1811 by Thomas James - 9.5cm long; 16g - PT/6244
This is a very pleasing and unusual Georgian silver caddy spoon made by Thomas James.
James was an innovative maker of caddy spoons and his creations often featured unusually shaped handles and bowls with an attractive engraved design. The rim of this circular bowl is cleverly cut-out and has a band of engraved wrigglework. The plain, fiddle pattern handle is engraved around the lower shoulders to give a very satisfying overall appearance. The spoon is in excellent condition with clear London hallmarks for 1811.
