Large Elkington Bowl, 1899

This impressive looking and good-sized round bowl has a beautiful Romanesque frieze around the top rim, fluting to the underside of the bowl, egg and dart moulding to the domed foot, and acanthus decorated cast scroll handles. This fine quality bowl was made by the top English silversmiths Elkington & Company and has a good hefty weight. It is in fantastic polished condition with neither engravings nor erasures.
