Egg-shaped Vinaigrette, 1858

This is a beautifully formed silver vinaigrette, taking the shape of an egg. It has been expertly made with a flush hinge to maintain a smooth, tactile form and has a beautifully engraved appearance. The interior of the viniaigrette is gilt and the round hinged grille has a spiral of engraved scrolls and is attractively pierced. The vinaigrette is in excellent condition throughout and is hallmarked to both upper and lower halves for the short-lived partnership of Aston & Son.
