Table Spoon - Hanoverian Double-drop - Newcastle 1742 by James Kirkup - 21cm long; 70g - FC/2328b
Newcastle-made silver spoons from the first half of the 18th century are very scarce and this is a great example.
Made by James Kirkup and with a nice hefty weight of 70 grams, this Georgian silver table spoon has a great feel to it and the bonus of a good set of scarce Newcastle assay office marks. The spoon remains free form engraving (no erasures) and is in excellent condition with a lovely, antique patina.
