Caddy Spoon - Fiddle Pattern - Chester 1839 by John Sutter - 8.8cm long; 13g - RN/3461

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

John Sutter was a Liverpool based silversmith who sent his wares to his nearest assay office in Chester. Chester-marked silver from the early 19th century is scarce and this silver caddy spoon bears a good set of early Victorian hallmarks for the city.

The spoon is made in fiddle pattern and has a fluted, fan-shaped bowl. The front terminal is engraved with original "MC" in script ownership initials. This rare Chester caddy spoon is a little pitted to the front surface, but otherwise is in fine condition.
