Bottle Corks - Cast Vine & Grapes - London 1862 by George Fox - 8.5 cm high; 133g gross - Ref:GT/2729
These are a superb pair of silver mounted wine bottle corks made by one of the best London silversmiths of the 19th century - George Fox.
The silver mounts are cast and formed as a vine plant with hanging grapes. The original cork is held firm by a central spigot and can be inserted in to a part-used bottle for safe keeping and will continue to look resplendent whilst sat at the table or side bar. It's a bonus to find a pair and both are fully and identically hallmarked. They are in excellent condition.
