John McFerlan is a scarcely encountered silversmith who seemed to specialise in innovative bright-cut engraved silver caddy spoons as exemplied by this example.

This Georgian caddy spoon has a short, nicely shaped handle with stylish engraving and centred by the initial "W" in script. It has a fluted bowl and is in excellent condition with clear London hallmarks, including the IMF makers mark.
