Gravy Boat - London 1936 by Omar Ramsden - 19.7cm long (handle to spout); 12cm high to top of handle; 7.1cm diameter base; 282g - BK/6156

With its elegant, streamlined appearance, this stylish silver sauce or gravy boat was made by Omar Ramsden in the Art Deco taste.

It stands on a circular, pedestal foot and has a long, flowing body that terminates with a pouring lip. The quality is obvious when you lift it up and feel the chunky weight. This gravy boat has been hand-made and the evidence in the form of planishing marks are in situ throughout in the style of the arts and crafts movement. There are no condition issues and it remains a fine piece with clear London hallmarks to the underside adjacent to the engraved "OMAR RAMSDEN ME FECIT" statement.
