Table Spoon - Old English Pattern with Bright-cut Edge - London 1782 by George Smith - 20.8cm long; 72g - AG/6133

This is a beautiful George III period antique silver table spoon made by George Smith - one of the best specialist spoonmakers of the period.

The handle is decorated with a bright-cut border and bears an original engraved crest to the terminal featuring a lion holding a fleur-de-lys above the family motto: "In Deo Spero" (translates to "Trust in God").

The condition is superb with crisp engraving, a good, unworn bowl, fabulous patina and a fantastic set of deeply struck London hallmarks for 1782.
