The Service
This is a superb quality 89-piece straight canteen of silver in a sought after 20th Century Pattern. This extensive Louis Seize (XVI) service provides for ten pieces per 8 place settings and an array of serving pieces.
Every piece is hallmarked for 1982 and retailed by the prestigious London luxury goods shop, Garrard & Company Ltd. The service benefits from having no personalised engravings to any of the pieces and is in first class, polished condition.
Louis XVI Pattern
Louis XVI Pattern draws its inspiration from French flatware designs and was named in honour of the late 18th century French King Louis XVI. It has straight sides with a reed & ribbon border and a shell motif to the end of each handle. The pattern was made in Sheffield by Roberts & Belk during the mid-late 20th Century and was a particular favourite with Garrards.

Condition
The silver is in near immaculate, polished condition throughout. There are some minor corrosion spots to the sharpening steel for the carving set.
Presentation
This canteen is supplied in a mahogany effect canteen with green velvet lined interior and each piece having its own slot to prevent scuffing. The coffee spoons do not have slots and are supplied loose. Please note that if opened too quickly the knives will fall out from their slots within the lid! The box is in excellent condition with an original key for locking.
