Dessert Spoons (8) - Old English Feather Edge Pattern - Edinburgh 1777 by William Davie - 17.6cm long; 288g combined weight - GV/5524

This is a beautiful set of eight Scottish silver dessert spoons made by William Davie of Edinburgh.

Dating from the George III period, this set has a lovely elegant feel and remain in fabulous, crisp condition. Each spoon is decorated along the sides of its stem with feather edging and engraved to the terminal with a crest depicting a hand issuing from a cloud with a finger pointing at a star and surmounted by the family motto "SEQUAMUR" (translates to "let us follow").

The bottom-struck Edinburgh hallmarks to the reverse side remain clear and the overall quality and condition of these spoons is quite stunning - just look at the super-thick bowl tips!
