Wardell & Kempson are one of the lesser known partnerships working in Birmingham at the start of the 19th century, but their silver caddy spoon production was innovative, distinctive and appealing.

This Georgian silver caddy spoon has a particularly wide, fluted bowl - this feature being a trademark of many of their designs - and an attractively decorated handle with mid-18th century style block engraved initials to the terminal. All-in-all a very different look to the caddy spoons from other workshops. The spoon is in fine condition and the hallmarks include the sought after "W&K" maker's mark.
