Campaign Drinking Set - London 1855 by John Harris - 11cm high; 7.5cm diameter; 451 grams weighable - Ref. No.: HY/2695

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This is one of the finest campaign sets that we have encountered. It is a truly masterful piece of ingenuity and workmanship. The covered beaker looks unassuming enough, however it is when you open it and take it out piece by piece that the fun begins.

The cover is in fact part of the cup hidden inside. The beaker with gilt interior is slid from underneath and the cup stands on a foot that can be removed by way of a screw thread. Inside the cup sits an ivory loop handle that slots in to the fitting on the side. The glass flask within has a stopper and screw thread lid to preserve the contents from leaking.

The engraved cipher "EC" or "CE" is emblazoned to each piece (5 times in all) and each piece (with the exception of the flask cover) is hallmarked. The quality is fabulous throughout with each piece having a good hefty weight - the silver alone weighs 451 grams and the gross weight is 727 grams. This piece of silver has many functions and could be used for a picnic, hunting trip or a night out. It is in excellent condition with no damage to the silver, glass nor ivory handle.
