This example of an early Victorian silver apple corer is ideal for carrying in the pocket as it has a silver handle and corer that can be detached and reversed using the threaded central section and thus protecting the corer from damage. The corer section carries a full set of silver hallmarks for Joseph Bettridge, whilst the handle is appropriately part marked with a lion passant. This apple corer remains in fine condition throughout.

Apple corers were a pre-requisite for the wealthy of early 19th century Britain, to be used to remove the core from the health giving apple.
