The Jordan Lloyd Aseptic Suture & Ligature Box, 1899

We have never seen one of these before. Fortunately the raised writing to the cover explains exactly what the box was used for. The central spindle would have held the coiled lengths and the end poked out from the small hole. The cover has a knurled edge for improving grip and the small tab would cut the thread. An interesting piece of medical silver.
