Caddy Spoon - 'Strawberry Leaf' - Birmingham 1837 by Taylor & Perry - 6cm long - PQ/3046

Made during the first year of Queen Victoria's reign, this lovely antique silver caddy spoon was created by the Birmingham based partnership of Taylor & Perry.

The caddy spoon takes the form of an expertly modelled strawberry leaf bowl with looped tendril handle. The leaf has a serrated edge and is cleverly chased with veins. It bears a full set of Birmingham hallmarks and is in excellent condition with neither damage nor repair.

John Taylor & John Perry took over the business successfully run for forty years by the prolific maker of caddy spoons, Joseph Taylor.
