Chutney Spoon/Fork - Bernadotte Pattern - Post 1945 by Georg Jensen - 14.6cm long; 40g - WS/6243a

Made by Georg Jensen, this useful sterling silver serving spork or chutney server is similar in form to the runcible spoon made famous in Edward Lear's nonsense poem "The Owl & The Pussy Cat".

Ideal for serving pickles and chutney, this small server has a flat spoon bowl with three fork prongs and is in the popular Bernadotte pattern. It is stamped to the reverse side with Georg Jensen's post-1945 workshop mark and the STERLING and DENMARK punches. It is in excellent condition.

Bernadotte is a stylish flatware pattern that was designed for Georg Jensen in 1939 by Sigvaard Bernadotte and although Art Deco in date has a leaning towards the approaching changes in style in favour of a Modernistic taste. The pattern proved especially popular during the 1960’s.
