Spoon - Trefid with Beaded Rattail - London 1699 by Lawrence Coles - 18.8cm long; 44g - WA/3642
This is a great example of a late 17th century silver trefid spoon. Dating from the reign of William III, the spoon has an attractive bead decorated rattail to the reverse of the bowl and is free from any personalised engravings. It has a very good set of Britannia Standard hallmarks and was made by one of the premier specialist spoonmakers of the period. Other than some table contact wear to the bead rattail, the spoon is in fine condition with a good unworn bowl and due to current high stock levels is very competitively priced.
