Trefid Spoon - Beaded Rattail - London 1691 by James Lapley (possibly) - 18.6cm long, 37g - KV/3434
This is a fabulous William & Mary period silver trefid spoon with beaded rattail to the reverse of the bowl.
The spoon bears a naive dot-prick engraved betrothal triangle to the terminal and is in excellent condition throughout. The major plus-point for this spoon is the superb set of clear hallmarks, including the distinctive "IL" maker's mark which can be tentatively ascribed to the spoon-maker James Lapley.
