Seal-top Spoon, London 1642

Sold
Spoon - Seal-top - London 1642 by Jeremy Johnson - 170mm long; 44g - CD/3613
This is a fine quality silver seal top spoon with baluster finial. This Charles I period spoon has an excellent bowl with thick rim around the lip. The leopard's head bowl is struck off-centre but is crisp and well detailed. The marks to the back of the stem are in excellent condition too. The flat plate to the seal finial remains blank, although the back of the bowl bears an 18th century betrothal triangle. A great example.
