Spoon - Seal top - London 1634 by Richard Crosse - 17.2cm long; 50g - RD/3435

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

This fine quality Charles I period silver seal top spoon has an attractively decorated baluster, gilt, seal finial. The spoon has a really good weight of close on 2 tr.oz. and a fabulous set of hallmarks - the leopard's head crowned bowl mark has particularly lovely detail and the three stem marks are crisp too with a very clear "RC" marker's mark for Richard Crosse (apprenticed to the spoon maker Robert Jygges 1625-32).The flat terminal of the seal finial bears original dot pricked betrothal initials (partly defaced) and the overall condition is excellent.
