Silver Hock Wine Label, 1780 Susanna Barker

This is a beautiful silver wine label titled for HOCK and made by on the best makers of bottle tickets, Susanna Barker.

This banner-shaped label is decorated with bright-cut engraving and surmounted by a cartouche surrounded by pierced out laurel branches. The cartouche is expertly engraved with an original crest. The HOCK title is pierced out and this has had the consequence of removing the "S" from the maker's mark.

Dating from circa 1780, this George III label is one of the trademark designs of Susanna Barker and is in excellent condition.
