Silver toast racks dating from the twenties and thirties are fairly commonplace and generally of a flimsy nature, however this example by Omar Ramsden is quite exceptional in its quality.
It is only a small toast rack but it has been superbly made from a good gauge of silver with a satisfying, chunky feel in the hand. The overall gilding (gold-wash) just adds to the quality that this piece exhibits. It is hand-made and features the celebrated "Omar Ramsden Me Fecit" statement to the underside. A superb piece in excellent condition.
