Coin Dish - Demi-lune - London 1914 by Omar Ramsden & Alwyn Carr - 7cm wide; 6cm deep; 3.5cm high; 57g - FD/2853

This is a rare silver dish made by Ramsden and Carr and set with a silver coin to the base.

The dish has two looped eyelets that suggest it was originally made to hang as a wall pocket or ashtray and was most likely used on the dashboard of an early motor car. The coin is a George V silver half crown dated 1913. The dish has an all over spot hammered effect from the original hand-making process and it stands on six ball feet. This is a very rare piece by Ramsden & Carr and is in fine condition (although the ball feet are a little squashed in places!).
