Scottish Provincial Table Spoon, 1775

Sold
Table Spoon - Hanoverian pattern - Glasgow c.1775 by Milne & Campbell - 21.1cm long; 72g - OR/5630a
This is a superb example of a Glasgow made table spoon for the period that Scotland's second city is considered as "provincial", as there was no assay office until 1819. It is a fine quality spoon with a good, heavy weight and is in superb original condition with thick rim to the bowl and fine patina. It also has wonderful provincial marks with clear maker's mark, fish, tree & bell town mark and a letter "O" (some form of date letter?)
