Fish Slice - Aberdeen circa 1790 by Peter Lambert - 315mm long; 145g (gross weight) - Ref. No.: YN/1992

Sorry, this item is out of stock.

A very example of a Scottish provincial silver fish slice dating from the late 18th century. This fish server has a plain silver handle and very attractively decorated silver blade: pierced demi-lunes with bright cut surrounds and a laurel wreath cartouche. The cartouche is free from engravings and has not been erased.

This excellent fish slice was made by a very mobile silversmith. Peter Lambert began his working life in Aberdeen before moving to Montrose and then on to Berwick Upon Tweed. It bears clear "PL" (twice) and "thistle" marks representative of his time in the Granite City. Excellent condition throughout.
