Sorry, this item is out of stock.

As can be seen in the final photo, this is a larger than typical size of silver porringer, plus it benefits from being in excellent condition throughout. It is a spectacular piece of Queen Anne silver and bears very crisp Britannia Standard hallmarks for the silver smith Thomas Parr. Taking the usual round form with two handles, this porringer or caudle cup is fluted to the lower section and has a rope work band higher up. The cartouche is framed with chased scrolls and benefits from having no personalised engravings nor have any been removed. The underside is engraved with original betrothal engravings where "H" is the surname initial of the happy couple and "B" and "M" their first names. The condition of this fine example is first class with crisp decoration and neither damage nor repair.
