Sugar Basin - London 1804 by Paul Storr - 17.5cm wide; 9.2cm high; 12.2cm diameter top rim, 366g - NF/4791

This striking George III period silver sugar basin was made by the great Paul Storr and dates from the early period of his career.

The bowl has two bold, C-shaped handles with rose motifs to the terminals and a demi-fluted circular body with flanged rim. The interior retains its lovely, rich gilding and the overall condition of this Georgian bowl is fantastic.

The quality is typical of that expected from Paul Storr with a satisfyingly hefty weight of almost 12 troy ounces and to the underside is a clear set of London hallmarks including a clear example of the all-important "PS" maker's mark for the great man.
