Child's Mug - Gilt; Vine & Grapes - London 1834 by Paul Storr - 8.3cm high; 8.5cm diameter at top; 206g - KN/9557
This is a superb quality silver-gilt mug made by the greatest English silversmith of the 19th century - Paul Storr. The mug is profusely decorated with chased grapes hanging from leafy vine tendrils and the handle is formed as a vine branch. The mug has a good hefty feel as one would expect and is gilt all over to give it that extra feeling of superior quality.
The underside of the base is engraved with a dated inscription presumably indicating it was given as a child's christening gift. The condition is first class throughout and the hallmarks are in good, crisp condition.
