Patch Box - Cylindrical with Tudor Rose Motif - London circa 1680 by LT - 3.5cm diameter; 1.8cm high - VP/8094
This is a lovely round silver box with typical Tudor rose engraving to the top cover for the late Carolean period. The inside of the base is stamped with an "LT" maker's mark in a clear heart-shaped punch and the box remains in great condition. Patches or court plasters had been a popular facial adornment since the 1640's and many were engraved with a Tudor Rose motif.
