Pastern Hoof Silver Caddy Spoon, 1807 C&B
£295.00
Caddy Spoon - Pastern Hoof - Birmingham 1807 by Cocks & Bettridge - 6.5cm long - OB/6098
The "pastern hoof", so called because of its similarities in shape to the lower leg of a horse (between fetlock and hoof), was a trademark silver caddy spoon design for the Birmingham makers Cocks & Bettridge.
The attractively shaped bowl of this George III caddy spoon has a delicate pierced gallery around the outer rim and the handle is prettily engraved and includes an original script initial "A" to the terminal.
This is a lovely silver caddy spoon that continues to be in fine condition with neither damage nor repair.
